Endings are tough! There are many ways you can end your story and you need to pick the way that leaves your audience satisfied. Loose ends do not make your reader happy or satisfied. Here are some ways you can end your story:
- Character realizes something
- Character changes
- Character learns a lesson
- Circle back to something that happened earlier in the story
- Go back or forward in time
Here are some DO NOT DOs:
- End with “The End”
- End with “To Be Continued…”
- State the theme or lesson directly, rather give clues with actions & dialogue of the characters
